One of the older mums (!), my little boy Jack is due to start school in September 2009. I could not have imagined that we might face problems getting a place in the village, and I'm frankly astounded by the council's attitude to this problem.
Words almost fail me, but no doubt I'll recover the power of speech in time to help out with anything that needs doing ... I support a march through the village, and a public enquiry as how this situation was allowed to develop, and why we are being told that it cannot be resolved for four years.
Why ever not? Why were houses allowed to be built at the same time that new premises at Northleaze School were being built? Did no one join the dots at the time, and realize the changed demographic?
I don't drive a car, and I am not willing to put my son on a school bus at the age of four. If the worst comes to the worst, I shall home-ed until a place becomes available.
