Hi Joanne! Have you still got Backwell? We've recently been allocated a place there for Henry. If you are still allocated West Leigh, let me know and we can arrange a meet up for the kids to get to know each other.
I'm afraid you are probably right but appeals figures are reported and the more the better really. Please also consider complaining to the Local Government Ombudsman - see my blog dated April 9th.
Hi Joanne - the recent q&a from the Council (they are posted on the website somewhere) indicate that 3 children were originally allocated West Leigh but that 2 have now dropped out. That would tend to indicate you are the only ones left from LA although I don't know who was allocated the 2 places that came available. Have you asked the Council whether anyone else has been allocated a place from LA? I don't see why they couldn't tell you. I do know that there are LA people on the waiting list for West Leigh (us included). Seems like a much better option than our allocation in Pill. Are you appealing for any of your preferred schools?

About Me:
We moved to Long Ashton just over a year ago, with no idea of the problems that lay ahead with regard to the lack of primary school places in the village.
My daughter Jessica has been allocated a place at West Leigh Infant School in Backwell and despite living just 0.28 miles from Birdwell we are now facing a 5 mile journey to school.
I would be very keen to hear from any other parents whose children are starting at West Leigh this year.
