We live in Long Ashton and have 2 children aged 1 and 6.
We moved from Bristol to the village in 2006 when our older son, Alfie was still at nursery. He was offered a place at Dundry but I refused it because I didn't want him travelling to an unfamiliar area in a taxi alone (which was what the council were proposing). Luckily we we'd applied to schools in Bristol before our move and unbelievably, the Bristol school which my son now attends is closer to our home in Long Ashton than the one offered to us in N.Somerset.
The situation is far from ideal as I don't drive and so to collect my son from school I need to catch 4 buses there and back with a 1 year old.
Alfie is now in Year 1 and we're still waiting :(
I really feel that the Authority must take responsibility for this situation. There has obviously been a massive failure in forward-planning.
