Hi Susie,

Meeting is at 4.30pm in the Guide Hut. I think it would be a great opportunity for someone to get involved who has future years interest. We are almost bound to concentrate on getting our children schooled this year but we must not loose sight of the necessity of a longer term solution.

If you would like to attend, it would probably be best to inform the meeting organiser (via Tamar Sutton) in an attempt to keep them onside!

About Me:
My daughter Rebecca is 3 and my son Benjamin 9months. We have lived in Long Ashton for 5 years and chose it as a home for its country village feel and also so my husband could cycle to work to reduce the amount we used our car. When Rebecca was 9 months old I started running a Bumps and Babes group in the village to help build community as nothing existed for new mums other than toddler groups aimed at older children. This was very successful and helped many mums develop friendships and feel that they belonged to a community. I am now on the committee of one of the local toddler groups. I would be greatly saddened if this village community is broken up due to failure to provide school places for its children, and would really be unhappy being forced to use my car to take my children to school outside the village when I've always planned to walk them to a local school myself.

Health Visitor records for recent number of children born in Long Ashton

Of course this may also not be the true picture if they… Continue

Meeting with Dr Liam Fox (our local MP) on Friday 14th March

On Friday afternoon myself and Anne Penman met with Dr Fox at his Nailsea clinic. He was well aware of the issue so must have had quite a lot of contact with people recently. He was very open to talk and wants to resolve the situation and make sure that the council don't just come up with a quick fix for this coming September but plan for future years too given the projected numbers look like the situation will get worse. Since no one party had control in the council for the past few years this… Continue
